CAUCASUS

On the southern slopes of the mighty Caucasus range lie the newly-independent republics of Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, together with breakaway territories like Nagorno-Karabakh. This fascinating ex-Soviet hinterland has a singular character that belongs to a culturally indeterminate place located somewhere between Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East.
