SILK ROAD CHINA

The original Silk Road was not a single road but a series of trade routes that ran between Xian in China and the Near East. These images come from Xinjiang in western China, close to the borders with Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Pakistan - an area that used to be better known as Chinese Turkestan.
